By Kathy Edwards McFarland

Remember, dear Readers, tip your hard-working absolutely fantastic musicians.
different paths … I recently found my visual art muse again, meaning, I’ve been creating new artwork and finding exhibit opportunities.
Actually the chance to display works came just before I needed to paint new works. (I seem to thrive on deadlines.)
But having visitors to Denton ask about local Jazz performances, I’ve needed to update you on the Spring and Summer live music scene – and – what local Jazz musicians are doing.
News of Note
Daniel Pardo, UNT College of Music flute performance doctoral student, has the $10,000 2016 Sherman-Barsanti Inspiration Award for his musical project called “From a Land Far Away.” (A detailed story appears in another DJC post.)
