Cooler weather – and even cooler Jazz this week

This week, I am privileged to give you, dear readers, a refresher course in how Sweetwater offers a varied Live Jazz schedule: Sweetwater Grill &
Tavern, 115 S. Elm St., reminds everyone of some great October shows. Tuesday, Oct. 14, its SG&T house band -the Sweetwater Jazz Quartet, featuring Jim Riggs on sax, Neil Slater on keys, Lou Carfa on bass, and Ron Fink on drums. Tuesday,October 21, it’s Bubba Hernandez and his band. And- what a treat, on Sunday, Oct. 26 – The N’Awlins Gumbo Kings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. (Every Friday in the Annex Bar, acoustic guitar serenades from 9-11 p.m.)

- Jeffry Eckels presents Jazz at the White House – A Vocal Showcase, corner of Scripture and Bryan, from 8-10:30 p.m. – no cover
- Zebras and Latin Jazz Band perform at UNT’s Gateway Center at 9 p.m. – $/?
Thursday, October 16:
- Vocalist, keyboardist and accordionist Ginny Mac & Friends at Dan’s Silverleaf, 103 Industrial, at 9 p.m. – $7
