Denton Jazz musicians, educators major players @ JEN in Dallas

JEN5thPOsterDallas is this year’s hub of Jazz activity with the Jazz Education Network 5th Annual Conference beginning tomorrow to the delight of University of North Texas students, faculty and alums.  (Visit for more about JEN, and for more details about UNT Jazz Studies involvement).

The Jazz Education Network is dedicated to
building the jazz arts community by advancing education,
promoting performance, and developing new audiences.

The 5th Annual JEN Conference in Dallas, TX, USA, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Reunion, January 8-11, 2014. This annual conference serves teachers, students, artists, performing arts presenters, music industry partners, enthusiasts and more. More than 3,000 attendees are expected at the conference and are working with local community arts leaders and jazz affiliates to make it a very successful event.

UNT’s Ed Soph and Paris Rutherford will be honored as 2014 LeJENds of Jazz Education on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at the Jazz Education Network annual conference in Dallas.

NEA Jazz Master Candido Camero is being honored at the same event as Inaugural LeJENd of Latin Jazz “Keeper of the Flame”.
