This week’s challenge is to choose which great Jazz performances you’ll attend in the mad rush of UNT Jazz Studies singers and bands presenting their Fall concerts.

Wednesday, November 14:

  • UNT Jazz Singers III and IV in Kenton Hallat 8 p.m. – FREE

  • Seven O’Clock and Six O’Clock Lab Bands perform at the Syndicate (in the UNT Union) at 9 p.m. – $/?

Thursday, November 15:

  • UNT Zebras and Austin Byrd perform in the One O’Clock Lounge (in the Union) at noon – FREE
  • UNT Repertory Jazz Ensemble in Kenton Hall at 8 p.m. – FREE

Friday, November 16:

  • Drew Zaremba – Jazz at Banter Bistro, 219 West Oak Street, Denton, at 6 p.m., followed by Andrew May at 8 p.m., and Mardi

Saturday, November 17:

  • Jazz with Seth Weaver at Banter Bistro, 219 West Oak Street, Denton, at 6 p.m., followed by Andrea Young, Richard Gilbert, Caleb Coonrod, and Low Fidelity, Paul Metzger and Ann MacMillan at 8 p.m. – ALL FREE

  • Vintage Jazz Society meets at the Center for the Visual Arts – Denton, 400 East Hickory Street, at 9:30 a.m. – discussion, followed by a jam session at 10:30 a.m. – everyone is welcome

  • UNT Afro-Cuban/Brazilian/Latin Jazz Ensembles perform in Voertman Hall, 8 p.m. – FREE
  • Late night Jazz with Zach Forsythe at the Greenhouse Restaurant, 600 North Locust Street, Denton,  from 10 p.m. to Midnight – $/?

  • 52nd Annual Fall Concert with Mike Stern and the UNT One O’Clock Lab Band, directed by Steve Wiest, Winspear Hall, 8 p.m. – $10/15
  • Mi Son, Mi Son, Mi Son performs at Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, 115 South Elm Street, Denton, 7-9 p.m. – FREE
