  • Jazz with JiSung Kim at Banter Bistro, 219 W Oak, Denton, 6 p.m., followed by Loose Fit – 8 p.m. and Backwater Opera at 10 p.m. – ALL FREE

Saturday, June 2:

  • Jazz guitarist Alex Cannon at Banter Bistro, 219 W Oak, Denton, 6 p.m., followed by Uver at 8 p.m. and Josh Sinai at 10 p.m.- ALL FREE
  • Enjoy cool Jazz every Saturday evening at Cafe du Luxe.

  • Vintage Jazz Society meets at the Center for Visual Arts (Bell at East Hickory, Denton) at 9:30 a.m. for discussion, followed by a jam session at 10:30 a.m. – Everyone Welcome!
  • Late Night Jazz at The Greenhouse Restaurant, 600 N. Locust, Denton, 10 p.m.- Midnight. No Cover

Tuesday, June 5:

  • Marshall Smith & BRAZZ – the acoustic, all brass quintet plays resonant, full brass versions of Jazz standard from Brubeck to Parker at Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, 115 S. Elm, Denton, 7 – 9 p.m. – FREE. The group features Marshall Smith on trumpet, Jordan Gheen on trumpet, Catherine Gilstrap playing French horn, Kevin Hickson trombone

Le Not So Hot Klub du DentonThad Bonduris leads the group of masters of the gypsy jazz style of Django Reinhardt. Starting the evening with Andy Cooper’s favorite kickoff tune, Douce Ambiance, the band wows its audience with solos on guitar as well as flute, saxophone, accordion, violin, even upright bass and trap set.

    bass, performs at The Shops at Highland Village for the Tuesday Evening Jazz at the Fountain, 7 – 9 p.m. The Shops at Highland Village is at the NW corner of FM 2499 and FM 407, Highland Village, Texas.The series, which runs Tuesday nights through June 26, features award-winning students, faculty and alumni from UNT.
